Everyone's Losing! Boston Vs. Carolina

So everyone in the Eastern Conference is losing lately. Well, everyone but Washington and New Jersey, and somehow Ottawa. That's good stuff for the Canes, especially since they sucked fat ones against Florida and Columbus. They beat Barfalo on Sunday to keep up in the playoff race, and to stay only 3 points behind them and Florida.

However, at the rate that the Rangers and the Habs are losing, we may be able to barely outpace them and squeeze into the playoffs. Hell, the way the Bruins are playing lately(4 game losing streak), there may easily be 3 Southleast teams in the playoffs. So onto the matchup!

Ingredients

1 Awesome looking Bruins team who has been looking slightly less awesome as of late. They've lost 4 in a row now. However, 3 of those teams are nothing to scoff at being Philly, San Jose, and New Jersey. On the same note, San Jose hasn't exactly been stellar lately either.

1 Split personality Canes team looking for any kind of consistent effort. Seriously, we have the Alex Kovalev team. One minute we can beat the best team in the League. Over the next 2 games, we get scored on 10 times to our 1. Then we shut out an OK team and post 3 goals on them. Maybe AK-27 needs to be our Captain, since he's not really being the Habs', and ours isn't doing anything either.

Hops

Boston: No one? No One! But like I've said earlier, we tend to break streaks for other teams. Especially bad streaks.

Carolina: Staal hasn't been bad lately. And Ward just got a shutout against Buffalo, so maybe he can extend that shutout streak to like 65 minutes or so.

Trub

Boston: Axelsson is on a 10 game scoreless streak, and Tim Thomas has looked less that stellar lately posting 1-2-0, 2.62, .886 in last 3 games played.

Carolina: Brind'Amour, like he has been all year. Probably the person with the coldest touch is Justin Williams. He's now out a month or two for breaking his hand. This guy has the worst luck when it comes to injuries. I think he's played like 50 games in the past 3 seasons. Dude, seriously, did you break all the mirrors in the locker room when you won the cup?

Additives(oooh)

Tonight is Glen Wesley night in Raleigh. The team is celebrating his 20 year career in the NHL(on both the Bruins and the Whaler/Canes) by raising his sweater to the rafters. The last time the Canes retired a sweater was when they raised Ron Francis' back in 2006. They went on to win that game, and the Stanley cup that year. See a trend forming? Neither do I.

Final Product

Who knows. Maybe the Canes will come out with some fire after seeing Wesley's number retired. Maybe they'll break Boston's losing streak. I'll call it 4-2 Bruins. I've got statistics on my side.
